Tom Friedman offers a perfect definition of "terrorism"

Tom Friedman, one of the nation's leading propagandists for the Iraq War and a vigorous supporter of all of Israel's wars, has a column today in The New York Times explaining and praising the Israeli attack on Gaza. For the sake of robust and diverse debate (for which our Liberal Media is so well known), Friedman's column today appears alongside an Op-Ed from The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg, one of the nation's leading (and most deceitful) propagandists ... Greenwald, true to form, offers an astute and thorough refutation of an op-ed by Thomas Friedman justifying Israel's forays into Gaza and Lebanon. His attacks are well reasoned and strong, and he doesn't take any pot shots at his opponents. He writes responsibly, updating his piece four times to respond to comments and elaborate on points.

I like the tendency of blogs to update in response to feedback and new information. This makes a compelling case, and it brings in a number of sources with quotes and extensive links.

It's not like this is an entirely unusual war against civilians. Almost all wars are ended not when one military is entirely defeated, but when the harm to civilians exceeds some threshold. They just don't usually begin that way.

this piece clearly illustrates the irony of tom friedman's op-ed opinion. that he doesn't see the irony of terrorism himself would appear to be a blind spot in his perceptions.

as i read these stories, i think that they illustrate that extreme actions such as those of israel and hamas, generate extremism in thinking in normally reasonable onlookers to the actions. that extremism in turn can make it more difficult in many extreme actions to find solutions to them.

Friedman reached to advise readers on questions of war and ethics, and Greenwald here exposes him to be advocating terrorism, almost verbatim. Nationalism and religion tend to bring out such sociopathic views in those who do not think about ethics. Greenwald takes out Friedman while protecting all the civilians.

Advocates of war and hate and intolerance need to be challenged pointedly and often. We must make war obsolete or man will become obsolete.

I know nothing of Mr. Friedman's but I would bet his used to pull the wings off of fly's in his youth.

Anyone,Anyone, who advocates killing women and children is not fit to clean out monkey cages.

This article exposes the truth with substantial evidence to support each assertion.

Friedman and the New York Times are, indeed, guilty of encouraging war crimes against Palestinian civilians.
