A short blog post as part of a Q&A with a commenter. The Middle East is a complex region, and the author clarifies some points about that; additional information in post comments provides important facts and more context. The sourcing should be much more extensive. This post's explanation of some history behind Gaza and Egypt is just the tip of the iceberg; much more depth is needed, and the public would benefit from having access to a more through treatment of this topic.
