After Israel's ghastly disproportionate actions in Gaza, it was hardly shocking to read yesterday in the New York Times that our incorrigible ally was ready, willing and eager to preemptively blast Iran last year.

Carpenter makes out a good case for believing Israel to be a direct threat to US national security. An Israeli attack on Iran would have created a catastrophe far eclipsing the Iraq fiasco.

Israeli militarism and Zionist fanaticism puts Israel's security, and that of the US, needlessly at risk. Aipac and other US groups subvert the national security of the US by encouraging reckless behavior by Israel and the continuing oppression of the Palestinians.
