Bush's legacy

As the end of George Bush's term (finally!) draws near, there is much talk regarding what will be his legacy (if "legacy" is an appropriate word to refer to the historical perspective of a bungled disaster).

Some would argue that Bush deserves credit at least for the absence of any terrorist attacks on U.S. soil since 9/11. Maybe, but it's rather hard to prove why something that never happened, didn't. Full Story »

Talk about a mail fist covered by a velvet glove! In a few short bruising phrases, the author effectively raises counterpoint to all those Bushies’ noble utterances that they are the only ones able to keep America safe.

If this article is accurate, does that mean Democrats are equally capable of protecting America? Or even better? Egad!

Short, clear, and to-the-point comment asks questions that pierce the shields of PR and rhetoric.

Many BBC interviews have the same bite, in cordial tones. I would like to see American news media ask questions like this when they interview politicians of all sides--even the ones I agree with.
