In this obviously partisan opinion piece defending George Bush, Joan Swirsky sometimes writes beyond her evidence--however far less so than many Bush-hating leftist writers who assume that only their view of reality has merit. At least Ms. Swirsky relies on facts to make her case--the fact of our safety these past 7+ years being a prime example. And she rightly credits Bush with giving 50,000,000 (count the zeros, please) citizens of Iraq and Afghanistan their first opportunity to participate in free elections. Most revealing are the dismissive, uninformed comments of some of the other reviewers of this article who simply insist that Swirsky has lost touch with reality, or that she must live on another planet. Even though Bush may never match the respect historians now accord to President Truman, I want to join Joan Swirsky in thanking him for serving the nation faithfully and to the best of his ability. I doubt many of his critics could have done as well.

This editorial provides a fairly deep look at the Bush legacy from a clearly conservative perspective. It provides a fair number of references to what other conservatives have written as well.

From my personal point of view this piece is basically a rehash of the Republican talking points of the last 8 years. However, that too is part of history in the making and this is one of the more comprehensive pieces I've seen from that perspective.

Although this article quotes people, the quotes are opinion and not facts. The author has stated that we have not been attacked because of the administration work. That is an opinion that lacks proof.
