Bush's Legacy? It Could've Been Worse

Ladies and gentlemen, I am about to attempt the impossible. For my next trick, I will defend the Bush administration.

This is no easy task. Trust me, I've tried before. Still, the task is worthwhile.

George W. Bush will be remembered for many failures. But he will also be remembered for more than a few achievements. Wait until 50, or even 30, years from now. You will be surprised at what folks are saying about him then. Full Story »

He puts a doily under the trophy for participation, as he tries to make the last place finish look like a victory. He crows over having no attacks since 9/11 ignoring the fact Bush ignored clear warnings of 9/11 before it happened. He crows over Iraq where U.S. fatalities have declined in spite of the surge, not because of it. He says most people supported war in Iraq, ignoring that most did not, and congressional foolishness was because of Bush lies about intelligence.

Bush is a great president because he could have been worse. Hmmm. Damning with very faint praise.
