Interesting observation concerning President Bush's move to set aside a substantial amount of Pacific Ocean area for protection.

Interesting perspective from Lompoc, which is within oil-slick distance of the offshore well that leaked for nearly a year in the late 1960s off Santa Barbara. While I always appreciate a good conservation measure, I also wish the set-aside also included renewing the 30+ year prohibition of offshore drilling in the coastal waters of the US.

Looks at Bush's Pacific Ocean protection order for the good thing that it is, while remaining critical of his overall environmental legacy.
