The incident of the flying shoes

The Iraqi journalist behind the incident has become a hero to many in the Middle East who blame Bush for the tens of thousands of Iraqi deaths that followed the 2003 US-led invasion of Iraq.

To others he is an embarrassment to a society that prides itself on being hospitable to guests, even hated ones.

Al Jazeera interview program "Inside Iraq", in two parts, between a former senior Bush advisor and the editor of a pan-Arab daily newspaper published in London. Chilling look at the attitude of American Brad Blakeman and disrespect with which he treats his fellow panelist and the host.

Blakeman brings the worst of America's smackdown "journalism" as practiced on the shout-out-your-opponent televised info-brawls. I am ashamed to learn that this brute was ever allowed to speak in public representing the American people. If this rude, wrong, arrogant propagandist is the face of America seen in Arabic nations, is it any wonder we are unpopular there?
