George W. Bush's Legacy of Failure

With only days left until his term expires, it appears that the Bush legacy project, an attempt by the usual corps of serial sycophants to rehabilitate the lame-duck generalissimo's image, is falling upon the deaf ears and self-gouged eyes of an American public sickened by the last eight years.

Yes, the Bush cabal just couldn't clear out of town without trying to complete one last propaganda project for the Gipper, or the Decider, if you will. ... Full Story »

This highly opinionated article doesn't mince words about Bush's track record -- which the author views as a calamity. While his comments seem unnecessarily offensive, he makes a reasonable argument about the futility of the Bush administration's attempts to restore the president's credibility. Particularly illuminating are quotes from a White House talking points memo obtained by the L.A. Times, which shamelessly touts Bush's accomplishments, without referring to any of his failures. Deliciously scathing dish on efforts by the Bush Administration to cast a spell on the collective memory of the world and position the the Bush Legacy as a grand success.

After reading the other reviews, I honestly expected something better. I suppose Bush-haters will love to lap this stuff up, however I couldn't help but think I had stumbled on the ramblings of a leftist version of Rush Limbaugh--another blowhard commentator whose invective I find difficult to stomach. The only other opinion piece I have ever read that was this inaccurate, this uninformative, and this noxious was written by Air America host Randi Rhodes.

I feel no compulsion to defend George Bush, believe me. But this opinion piece just plain sucks--almost as bad as the recent movie "W."

If Al Qaeda blows something up during Obama's term Bush will suddenly look a lot better. This article is dripping with hatred. The left hates Bush because he got elected and served successfully.

Why pay any attention to the Guardian? They never got over the fall of socialism.
