Weak as water! An article looking for a basic theme. Are we worried about Bush and China with China losing its favorite president? Or is China a world power which still engages in human rights violations, just like the Bush administration? Perhaps the best review is: "who cares?"

This is one of those "who really gives a damn articles," in a similar vein as "what shall Obama do?" about how he shall handle the little gifts left by Cheney and Bush. Frankly, it's all too boring.

The article provides an important world view of the Bush legacy as seen from Asia. Bush's gross incompetency and desire to look the other way on civil rights violations has enabled China to greatly strengthen itself economically, diplomatically, and militarily.

We ignore China at our peril. They could be a strong ally or an overpowering adversary. Right now they hold the family jewels in their currency vaults.

this summary opinion reads more as a critical opinion of the chinese government, with pres. bush as the aiding and abetting deputy of the chinese government, with quid pro quos all around. the writer points out that the enormous u.s. debt held by the chinese government may make a pres. obama's relationship with china also less than what the writer would like, altho he indicates that there could be differences there.. there isn't any real analysis here, nor much redemption in the portrayal.of either party.
