Obama Must Get Tough With Israel to Achieve Peace

Jews worry for a living; their tragic history compels them to do so. In the next few years, there will be plenty to worry about, particularly when it comes to Israel. The current operation in Gaza won't do much to ease these worries or to address Israel's longer-term security needs. The author notes that US passivity in its relationship with Israel is bad for both countries. His suggestion that Iran may soon become nuclear-armed is completely unsupported and in fact is routine slander for the Israel lobby.

The US is foolishly undermining Israel's long-term stability by in effect encouraging the oppression of the Palestinians. Israel needs to be told to get out of the West Bank and the Golan Heights. Soon.

An even handed report that suggest while Obama should make sure, while we are and always will be ally's with Israel, it's time to be more even handed in our negotiations with other countries in the Middle East.

If Israel continues to bombard Gaza and kill women and children while Bush is still the President, Obama must stop this carnage by Israel. If not , he won't have a very happy "First 100 Days".
