The basis for Husain's estimates are not given. The message is stark and important.

The water shortage is inextricably linked to a surplus of people, and that aspect of the problem continues to be ignored.

A well sourced story that doesn't have an obvious bias. The writing is a bit dense, but other than that, it is well worth the read.
