the story is a snapshot of the process involved now in the debate/discussion of the public option in the health bill. the writer sorts out the senate's role and the president's in a way that seems fair.

the consistent questioning of pres. obama's role in the process of this bill seem disingenuous, in the press at least, in not discussing that it is we, the citizenry, in a complex democracy, who need to involve ourselves through our senate/house representatives in making this bill what we think we want it to be, and the president's role as leading the way on wanting change, then letting that process work, seems appropriate.
