While this story does provide factual information about methods of making cellulosic ethanol production from cob feasible, it fails to take into account biodiversity loss from monocultural expansion, soil degradation from petrochemical fertilizers, water pollution from same, and a myriad untested chemical by-products that make their way into our bodies such as polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons. Depicting ethanol as a solution to our massive energy consumption instead of conservation is applying chewing gum to the leaky dam of over-consumption that comes with over population and the life-style of 'choice'.
