Diament puts some careful thought into nuances of policies that deal with church and state, but he misses the key point.

There should be a firm wall between church and state. Our constitution calls for a secular government. Obama's biggest legal mistake is that he has not pledged to abolish the Faith Based initiative of Bush. Benign neglect may be the best we can hope for.
