Attack on Gaza: As Usual, U.S. Media (And Most Liberals) Silent

As Israeli Newspaper Raises Doubts

In the usual process, the U.S. government, media here -- and most liberal bloggers -- are silent or playing down questions about whether Israel overreacted in its massive air strikes on Gaza, while the foreign press, and even Haaretz in Israel, carries more balanced accounts. Full Story »

Mitchell goes to the journalistic ethics heart of the reporting, but fails to delve into the causes of the blindness to the genocide of the Palestinians being pursued by the right wing military government of Israel.

When even Obama abandons a balanced human viewpoint to the conflict in order to win an election by affirming strong support for Israel, it takes more journalistic courage to report the disproportionate military reaction of the Israeli right. Quick comments on how even Israeli newpapers provide the type of penetrating analysis of the immorality of the militaristic actions of the government of Israel, that are mostly lacking in American newspapers. British media do a better job by far than US media in this regard.

More of Israel's "eye for an eyelash" policy of retaliating by 100 times or more for perceived offences by "enemies" of Israel, be they Hezbollah and the Lebanese, or Hamas and the Palestinians. The US encourages Israeli oppression of the Palestinians and then wonders why so many hundreds of millions of people around the world loath the US.
