How To Be a Good Billionaire

There was a sense that getting rich very fast would be bad for their kids. They also didn't expect to have this money, and so they wanted to find ways to put it to work. Full Story »

Interesting interview about the rise of philanthropy among the super-rich, featuring Matthew Bishop, the former New York bureau chief of The Economist and the author of Philanthrocapitalism. The article provides informative insights about what motivates billionaires to give back to society, and how people like Bill Gates, Ted Turner and Warren Buffet have approached this in different ways.

This is an excellent interview that asks some critical questions about 'Philanthrocapitalism'. It's even-handed, and highly informative, and appropriately skeptical.

Quite illuminating article on the role the "super-rich" in society can (and for some, do) hold in improving global problems. It provides a fairly detailed interview from the author of a book on the topic that explores the topic in quite some depth. It was a little hard to follow at times given due to the grammar (which I assume was transcribed from a face-to-face interview). Otherwise, a very interesting read.
