The article reflects the fact their are urgent problems in the environment and biosphere, but seems to assume the solution is purely military interventions. One does not carry a knife to a gun fight, but one can focus on defusing and preventing the gun fights.

Carry a big uzi, but try to make in an un-uzied uzi. Much of the environmental destruction is enabled by corrupt bribed officials; address that. Much of the pressure for survival is caused by overpopulation; address that. Much of the armed conflict is amplified by huge US exports of arms to tyrants; address that. Use of animal parts for medicine is due to gross ignorance; address that. Maybe a better meme would be not to carry an uzi to a fight against bacteria and fungi...

It presents an idea that isn't in the mainstream of environmental thought - but that may become necessary. It also looks at downsides, and does some speculation about the future.

Not surprising. Greens have always had fascistic tendencies. The great global warming scientist James Hansen wants to put people who dare to disagree in jail. Why not kill people who don't agree with green thinking.
