I believe it is necessary for all people who are in close relationships with public officials to be open about their contacts and resources. Government officials need to hold themselves to higher standards when it comes to showing they are above undue influence. If President Clinton was not affiliated with the government anymore through his wife or anyone else he would not need to disclose this information. Private organizations that do not attempt to influence government policy need not have to make their information public.
