Alterman speaks truth back against the distortions put forward by the big corporate right white media. On every major issue, Americans favor a progressive/liberal position.

The success of the "center-right" meme is a construct from the mean steam media. The victories of right wing candidates is largely due to the fact they gather enough money in to buy elections. There is great potential for a more democratic government if publicly financed elections were instituted, so the progressive ideas of this great country could get a fair hearing and successful candidates.
