The story tells of the Taliban providing a legal system for the people, where the puppet occupation government was providing none.

The failure to win the hearts and minds of the people is deeply mixed with the failure to provide security, justice, and honest government.

The reporter has tapped a fascinating story here, one that only comes from spending time in the field among your sources. Very well written and enterprising, but falls short on context for failing to explain the version of justice being carried out by these "mobile judges" of the Taliban. Are the Taliban really providing a fair substitute for the rule of law, or are they enforcing their own fundamentalist code?

This enterprising special report points out a major problem the west faces in attempting to bring democracy to the culture of the middle east. I've added a link that provides insight into the risks the reporter took and the effort required to obtain this story. That information changed my review entirely.

Yes. Because this woman (can you believe a woman) had the courage to go where men refuse to go. This was a dangerous assignment, informative, and news. Which the MEN are getting a little slow with. Maybe their're practicing throwing shoes in case Obama shows up.

The Taliban are nothing but thieves and murderers. His honor claims all judges have a college education. I doubt this claim, but even the most educated man can be a bloodsucker. The U.S. government cannot, I repeat cannot, take care of every little land deal gone wrong or so and so called me a so and so. The U.S. Military has a WAR going on, so excuse us if we can't worry about who stole Abdul's goat!
