Cuba's revolution at 50: gains fade, despair endures

As the Jan. 1 anniversary of the revolution's triumph approaches, many of the social welfare achievements that were the trophies of the communist regime have rusted. Somewhat one-sided. I agree with much of what is being said, but why no comment from anyone in Cuba, either from the official sources, or even better, from the man on the street?
