This piece was surprising in what I found to be its shortsightedness early on, but redeemed itself somewhat when the author brought in Kosovars to speak for themselves. Discussion of the religious sects in the new country was informative, and this touched on aspects of the war I'd never read about.

Interesting article about Kosovo's relaxed attitude towards religion, which the author claims makes it the world's most liberal brand of Islam. This report cites extensive factual evidence, and although it tends to present Kosovo in a favorable light, it also provides views from different perspectives, along with helpful context.

I learned something from this piece while still marking it down for unfairness. Its easy to discern that in the author's worldview, 1) observant Muslims are 'bad' compared to secular 'in name only' Muslims 2) Christianity is a moderating force 3) Arabs are backward.
