Beinhart asks the most important--and least acceptable--question of our time: what is it about faith...? Thoughtful inquiry about using religion to motivate--or justify--the most depraved acts we inflict on others.

Tally up the greatest number of senseless acts of torture and war, and an appalling proportion of them are due to 'religion' mixed with politics. Isn't it ironic that we tend to criticize "religious fanatics" when they're from other faiths, yet OUR religious, um, zealots, are "persons of faith," or simply "fundamentalists."
