Republicans hit new low

(Blog Post) Well, Republicans have hit another low, and not just in terms of their behavior (more about that later!). I mean they've hit a new low in the number of Republicans.

Like many liberals, (see the Keith Olberman extract) Randi has latched on to the Republican 20% mark as evidence that the party is in demise. This is wishful thinking. In real races such as the Virginai governership or Harry Reid's semate seat the GOP is extremely competitive. The 20% mark is only part of the story and the rest is not presented in this article. Also she goes on to claim that Glen Beck is misusing the Anta Dunn reference to Moa. "It's obvious to anyone .... that Dunn's reference is supposed to be ironic." Well while the link of Mao and Mother Teresa was intended to be ironic the actual description of Mao's views did not seem ironic to me. Her point about "Pick you own fights and do it your own way" could have been made by choosing a whole load of famous figures. Marting Luther King and Nelson Mandella spring immediately to mind. Of course Beck's rant is OTT - but that is also to be expected.
