Superb piece. In a smart, sober and skeptical manner, the author explains the potential dangers and realities of the Obama Administration holding such a wealth of personal data from its supporters. This is loaded with examples and well reasoned insights. A highly recommended post-election analysis on an important but elusive topic.

What an intelligent story. This erodes any alarmism over Obama abusing his campaign database -- if nothing else, the author argues, it would be politically disastrous, not to mention more tedious than using government databases. But it's also a wake up call for starry-eyed Obama enthusiasts who may not have considered that their candidate would be subject to the legitimate pressures and obligations of commander in chief.
