More women are drinking, and the women who drink are drinking more, in some cases matching their male peers. This is the kind of equality nobody was fighting for.

A refreshing break from the heavy load of political distortions--prevarications articles, and scary reporting about who needs the latest bailout, is headed into bankruptcy, or how much we've lost on the stock market. Lots of interesting information about things I didn’t know.

When we were in the middle a production (film documentaries, commercials, etc.) there were a lot of 80-90-hour weeks with late night dinners accompanied by 6 or 7 scotches before we crawled into bed for a scant few hours of sleep. Alcohol was the way we came off the plateau–our description of the high levels of energy needed to get through production. Women crew members and actresses easily drank circles around us real men.

This is an article that should have been written ago. The only problem is the author talks about women in positions of authority and not women who have ordinary jobs with two or three kids whose father is long gone.

I've never read an article about drinking where drugs are not mentioned. Every bar, party, or get together has someone who has drugs to give away or sell. You start off with a few drinks, and the next thing you know, someone's got some weed, coke, X, or some other sort of drug that will compliment your drink, in theory.
