Meaningless recommendations, even coming from the IHT. The Jammu and Kashmir dispute is far too deep and complex to be "settled" in the wake of the attacks, and it amounts to little for the IHT to suggest so here. I knocked this for relevance not based on the topic but for the overall impact of the piece.

The paper oversimplifies the issue here. This could be misleading to someone unfamiliar with the history of India-Pakistan relations. This is not some little border dispute that can be dealt with through straight talk; nor are the attacks and the circumstances that led to them akin to 9/11, but are part of a history of violence from both sides.
