Event-linked article (International Ecohealth Forum 2008 in Mérida) that states the theme and objectives of the gathering, some field data from all over the world, organizational linking of institutions involved, plus a couple of statements from officials and researchers.

What I think matters is the effort of highlighting the way in which human intervention in the environment amplifies pathogens and mechanisms of transmitting diseases. It's not that the diseases are caused by deforestation and global warming, but that they are greatly "helped" to gain into human territory. It's about what's avoidable.
