Seattle ornament banned from White House Christmas tree

When Seattle artist Deborah Lawrence was asked to create an ornament for a holiday tree at the White House, nobody familiar with her work could have imagined she'd stick to snowmen, Santa Claus or Mount Rainier bathed in festive red, white and blue.

That Lawrence submitted an ornament with the words "Impeach Bush" on its surface is also no surprise, except to the people responsible for picking her. Full Story »

i think it must help to have a sense of humor when you're a politician. it seems a foregone conclusion that it was rejected, along with 369 others, but this one is a cartoon moment, along with the factual info and a number of quoted sources including the artist.

Good journalism tells what happened, this accomplishes that with facts and quotes from the people involved.

A great story, in the true spirit of the season, it is heartwarming and inspiring - this artist reflected the hopes of many, and she took a risk with her offering, following her own "star"...I am thinking of using a printout of this story for my holiday greeting instead of card.

Not too much of a story here, just an assemblage of facts and a few quotes from the PR flacks of various interested parties.
