Understanding a country's and culture's history is vital to understanding its current viewpoints, and the reporter explains Poland's attachment to the coal industry well. Overall, sourcing should be more extensive and including counter-balancing viewpoints from within Poland -- environmentalists, green-energy advocates, etc. -- would better illustrate the diverse views Poles have on this issue.

there's important information here about the importance of coal mining in poland and the economic impact there a potential e.u.agreement on carbon dioxide pollution could have. i'd like to have seen other voices beyond that of the coal industry here. this may foretell the difficulties in the u.s. and china among others in reaching climate change agreements and if those can be overcome.
