This stark entry marks the combat death of one young man from Texas, one of 58,260 names on The Wall of American military personnel killed in Vietnam.

Private Adams died in service to this nation, for reasons most of us today would be hard-pressed to define. I did not know him, but today was his birthday, and also the birthday of two other young men listed on The Wall. I wish them rest, and peace and gratitude to their surviving loved ones.
