This is a preliminary transcript of testimony by six veterans of the Iraq 'war' before Congress in March, 2008. Some of the comments are a bit garbled because of the transcript format, but the testimonies of the veterans are compelling first hand accounts of daily military procedures and actions during several different stages, locales, and incidents involving US military personnel in Iraq. The truths are frank, hard, violent, disturbing, and absolutely essential for us to recognize and address as a nation.

We MUST hear and acknowledge that all of the actions reported are a minuscule sample of the appalling realities of seven years of urban combat and occupation, funded by American taxpayers, initiated under false pretenses, and conducted with neither planning, oversight, nor accountability. The testimony to congress is stark and gripping as it presents some of the reality of this illegal and immoral invasion and occupation, and the effect it has had upon service personnel.
