a) The many complexities of this issue were explained very well in this article. The reasons for the attacks, other then just race, like the isolation for the different groups were explained with clarity. b) Race in association with violence at schools is still a big issue that is dealt with at many schools today. This article helped me understand that. I was unaware that this was still an issue before reading this article. So in terms of depth of understanding a lot of what I know about this issue comes from this article, which did a very good job with providing me with knowledge of this issue. c) This article did a very good job of clarifying the issue for me. Because I never had to deal with race or violence at any school I attended, so I didn't really think this was still an issue for any school. So going into the article I didn't have any question nor coming out of the article did I have any questions. The article went into plenty of depth. d) The public dialogue on this issue is going to be much greater thanks to this article. Now that parents know this is still an issue in schools today there is going to be more discussion of where there kids should go to school. Also There will be more discussion among teachers and students at these schools about how to stop this violence. e) This article did a far job of promoting cross cultural understanding . This piece did a good job at showing how the blacks in this community felt isolated when other races entered the community. Also this article gave good understanding of Duong Nghe Ly's background and how we got to where he is now.
