In-depth report on Minnesota's U.S. Senator vote recount opposing Democrat Al Franken and Republican Norm Coleman. The article is well-documented, but tends to favor Franken over Coleman, who wasn't even interviewed for this piece -- though the author did try to reach his campaign. Interesting read nonetheless.

Mr. Taibbi looks at the Franken/Coleman Senate race and recount. This story includes some new (to me) information on possible corruption charges against Coleman and the fact that "Coleman was named one of the four most corrupt senators by the nonpartisan Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington.".

Taibbi gathers no moss as he rolls downhill knocking over images of Coleman like duckpins. Insightful and well crafted biting writing. There are a few quotable lines.

The allegations of corruption against Coleman are somewhat different than the allegations that arose during Coleman's successful bid against Wellstone/Mondale, but suggest a consistent lack of morality.

While I didn't follow this campaign, and think Al Franken is funny as hell, where were all these accusations about Coleman during the election.?
