Schools feel pinch from economic woes

As state and local revenue declines, officials are looking for the trims least likely to harm the quality of education. Basic reporting about how what will happen to school budgets as a result of less revenue from the recession. Budgets continue downward as enrollment continues upward, creating more pressure on school administrators.

Nothing surprising here. Although politicians, and everyone else over twenty-five, espouse copious noble rhetoric about high purposes of education and the sanctity of youth, when push comes to shove, education is the first to end up in the sewer. As usual, it becomes the Hell with education and youth be damned.
