Schools feel pinch from economic woes
As state and local revenue declines, officials are looking for the trims least likely to harm the quality of education. Nothing surprising here. Although politicians, and everyone else over twenty-five, espouse copious noble rhetoric about high purposes of education and the sanctity of youth, when push comes to shove, education is the first to end up in the sewer. As usual, it becomes the Hell with education and youth be damned.
