Insightful article about a newly released landmark study which looks at connections between educational success and living in NYC public housing. While the study is criticized by Housing authority officials and even the study's backers say it doesn't give enough answers, the reporter uses it as a prompt to interview teens who are succeeding at school and explains why they are succeeding.

It's well known that poverty, crime and instability at home affect school performance. More energy (and studies?) need to be put into finding concrete solutions to help children and their families in poverty, instead of another study done to confirm what we all know.
