It would have been nice to see new regulations put into context: what does this mean for the country and why are these policies being made at the last minute, largely out of the public eye. And with no original reporting, this feels more like a news summary than a news report.

If you’ve got the time and inclination, a lot of this process is public record and online.

Isn’t this the reporter’s job, to some extent. Given that I made it to the last sentence of the story, I’m obviously – to some extent – interested in this topic. But I feel the reporter has the skills, and the responsibility, to bring more information about “midnight regulations” to the foreground.
