Obama Team Tilts Toward Gates

The disingenuous history of Mr. Gates is documented, with additional links provided. Leopold identifies the good old boy network around Obama who seem to be advocating for Gates. Leopold also notes Obama's campaign rhetoric which wanted to change the very pro-war mindset that Gates represents.

Anybody except Gates (or Rumsfeld). How about vetting the following better candidates: Chuck Spinney, Max Cleland, James Webb, Sarah Sewall, Gary Hart, Wesley Clark, Tony Taguba, Richard Danzig, Chuck Hagel, Jack Reed, William Fallon, Michèle A. Flournoy, John P. White, or others that are not lying toadies. Even Powell. There are many options.
