Context is key in covering the global financial crisis, because there are so many moving parts. This story starts to get at that, showing how economic problems in the US are affecting markets around the world, especially by examining the plights of American auto companies.

It's interesting to see how the US markets can cause the Asian markets to fall, which then can cause the US markets to fall even lower. It'd be interesting to see if that phenomenon actually causes more panic, making this crisis even worse. I don't know how a reporter would get at that, but I'd love to see somebody try.
