This blog post alerts readers to the possible effects of the economic downturn on MA services for immigrants. It describes a public meeting and quotes from attendees. It provides some information on cuts to programs. I find it odd in a blog post to not make use of links to information on the program or the O Jornal article from which she quotes. I've provided links.
Novak's blog, "Under-Covered," lives up to its name with a comprehensive report on an undercovered topic — the fate of programs for Massachusetts's immigrant and refugee communities in a time of severe budget cuts.
The story gives a local view of what the new initiative could mean to immigrants and refugees -- and their fears about how the economy could humble to project's promises.
