Stimulate Car Buyers, Not Car Makers
Should Uncle Sam save General Motors, Ford and Chrysler from bankruptcy? In normal times, most mainstream economists (and many mainstream legislators) would probably say no. But with financial markets in turmoil and the economy on the cusp of a nasty recession, these are hardly normal times. Getting personal: in the past 24 years i've owned 8 Cadillacs--with a new one scheduled this coming March. My opinion is that Americans make great cars tailored for America's geography. Cars that easily are equal or better than anything any other company produces.
