Despite "All Clear," Mississippi Sound Tests Positive for Oil

The State of Mississippi's Department of Marine Resources (DMR) opened all of its territorial waters to fishing on August 6. This is an example of the type of investigative journalism we need to see more of. The authors accompany a fisherman out to sea in an area declared officially safe by Mississippi and federal officials, and they proceed to check for oil by submerging rags, then they get the rags tested by an environmental laboratory. Needless to say, they find oil - lots of oil - putting the lie to the government officials.
