This is entertaining opinion journalism and ignores the voting record of conservatives who overwhelmingly supported Bush for the last 8 years.
For Goldberg to now distance himself from Bush in this manner is sad and also interesting to see how he is trying to rewrite history. When he discusses compassionate conservatism he does not mention how that worked after Katrina and for our wounded soldiers. The inference in the article that conservatives were waiting to dissent because we were at war is a weak argument and is not supported by their voting record.There is no mention of Bush's conservative approach to deregulation ...
