Lt. Choi Won't Lie for His Country

After receiving the letter from the Army, Choi wrote an open letter to his commander in chief, Obama. He said: "I have personally served for a decade under Don't Ask, Don't Tell: an immoral law and policy that forces American soldiers to deceive and lie about their sexual orientation. Goodman cites the honesty and potential sacrifice of Choi as a banner for the movement for equal rights for gays and lesbians. Choi's story and the note of gays and lesbians serving in NATO troops alongside US troops in Afghanistan are high points.
