Obama to Explore New Approach in Afghanistan War

The incoming Obama administration plans to explore a more regional strategy to the war in Afghanistan -- including possible talks with Iran -- and looks favorably on the nascent dialogue between the Afghan government and "reconcilable" elements of the Taliban, according to Obama national security advisers. One of the major questions about the new administration is "what are they going to do about Afghanistan?" The Post apparently provides the outlines of the answer, moving our knowledge of the subject ahead. It's a good "beat" of the opposition thatshows both enterprise and the quality of the Post's sources.
