I am not sure this Lt. Colonel is the right person to write an alternative. If he has been in Afghan for long he is more likely part of the problem. To call General McChrystal plan a counterinsurgency effort misses the point badly. His plan is to clear and hold areas to allow the people to put up a local government and set up their local economy. Who does this guy plan to take over the government?
