While presenting an important topic and highlighting a less discussed repercussion of the debacle in Iraq, I imagine the families of the hundreds of thousands of Iraqis and thousands of coalition troops that have been killed would urge ms. Nossel to reconsider how she prioritizes causalities. She's also very light on evidence of any kind.

A little naive in that seems to buy the high shcool history white lie that America is historically benevolent and civilized; and that Iraq is an aberation. Also very America-centric in failing to note the 355,000 Iraqi deaths as being of any consequence. We need to learn our own history, then there is some hope of understanding how the rest of the world views us, and perhaps recapture some idealism based upon reality.
