This is mediocre journalism. It has all the foundations for being good journalism; however, the article falls short. There are many promsing aspects. First, the piece as an opportunity to give insight on a civil rights issue. Second, it has some great quotes about bigorty. Third, the story resignates with many people because our president is biracial. However, the author chooses to include all of the boring but important information. Sullivan writes about all the facts rather than enterprising on this skirted issue. Furthermore, the quotes about bigotry are insightful but can't stand on their own. The story is informative; although, I had to force myself to finsih it. The article isn't more than 400 words, thats saying something.
