A white Louisiana justice of the peace said he refused to issue a marriage license to an interracial couple out of concern for any children the couple might have.

I can't believe that in the year 2009 a government official would refuse to marry a biracial couple. I think it's disgusting that, after a black man has been elected president, and after the American people bragging about how far we've gotten in civil rights, that this man has been able to continue to hold his position. It isn't like he's only been in office for a year, but he has reigned for 34 years. I certainly agree with the calls to him to resign.
